WP Site Patrol

A static-first Astro build with React islands for a WordPress care and SEO service, where the site itself has to prove the pitch.

Project Overview

WP Site Patrol is a website support service covering development, WordPress maintenance and care plans, and SEO, under the tagline “Build. Maintain. Rank.” Its audience is business owners whose sites are slow, neglected, or not ranking.

I designed and built the site. A service that sells speed, upkeep, and rankings gets judged by its own website first, so the build is static-first: Astro renders every page to plain HTML at build time, and React powers only the components that actually need interactivity.

The Challenge

A care-plan service faces an immediate credibility test: every claim it makes about speed and reliability is checked by the visitor's first page load. The site had to be fast and technically clean enough to serve as its own proof.

It also needed a working conversion path. The whole site funnels toward one action, booking a free website audit, and that form had to stay usable for real prospects without drowning in bot spam.

My Role

This one was mine from design through deployment.

  • Designing the site and its focused 7-page structure
  • Building it in Astro with React island components
  • Writing the structured data for every page
  • Setting up Cloudflare delivery and Turnstile spam protection
  • Wiring the custom PHP form handler and GA4 analytics

The Solution

The architecture is static-first. Astro pre-renders the entire site to HTML, so pages arrive complete with no client-side rendering to wait for. React hydrates only a handful of small interactive islands, like the service tabs and the testimonial slider; beyond those, the pages ship little more than the analytics and Turnstile scripts.

Structured data is treated as a feature, because it's part of what the service sells. The homepage carries Organization and WebSite markup, the services page describes all six services as a Service with an offer catalog plus FAQ schema, and the contact and portfolio pages carry their own page-type markup.

The conversion path stays simple and protected: every page routes to the free audit, and the quote form posts to a small custom PHP handler guarded by Cloudflare Turnstile, which blocks bots without making real prospects solve puzzles.

Delivery runs through Cloudflare's CDN, with an XML sitemap generated at build time and a robots.txt that includes explicit content signals for AI crawlers.

Technical Highlights

Static-first speed

Astro pre-renders every page; React hydrates only a few small islands, like the service tabs and slider. The pitch is the page load.

Schema across the site

Organization, WebSite, Service with a six-offer catalog, FAQ, contact, and portfolio markup, all as JSON-LD.

Turnstile-protected lead capture

A custom PHP form handler behind Cloudflare Turnstile helps keep the audit funnel spam-free and friction-light.

Edge delivery

Cloudflare CDN in front, a build-time XML sitemap, and AI-crawler content signals in robots.txt.

Results & Outcome

Verified Results

  • As of August 2026 the live site serves pre-rendered HTML with JSON-LD on every page checked (Organization, WebSite, Service with offer catalog, FAQ, ContactPage, CollectionPage blocks), behind Cloudflare with Turnstile active on the contact form.

Project Outcomes

  • The site demonstrates what the service sells: static speed, structured data, and a clean, protected conversion path.
  • A focused 7-page structure keeps the pitch tight, with nothing to maintain that doesn't help sell.
  • Turnstile blocks automated spam without asking real prospects to solve puzzles.
